Titans: A dialogue between materials, space and time

I have been privileged to compose therapeutic soundscapes to accompany the work of world-renowned artist Wallace Chan in the lobby of Canary Wharf's iconic skyscraper.

Mr Chan, famous for his work with Jewellery, has created a series of sculptures in titanium and iron. They explore the relationship between the almost eternally enduring titanium, formed into varieties of ethereal human heads, and the rusting iron girders that, though apparently strong, will have corroded long before the Titanium. For me, the heads represent the human spirit - or soul - possibly eternal - planted in this material world of impermanence; the eternal and ephemeral combined in continually beautiful tension!
